Indoor Air Quality

In the past few decades, energy conservation measures have led to airtight building construction that can create problems with IAQ. Frequently the ventilation systems are set to minimize the amount of fresh air entering and circulating within the building. This restriction impacts indoor air by allowing a build-up of air contaminants within the building that are not properly removed.

If you are worried about the quality of air in your home please call us. We formulate a program for completing air quality testing and ensuring the air in your home is not attributing to any health problems.

Mould Assessments

Moulds can be present almost anywhere,  but most commonly found in buildings with excessive moisture, water damage, or a water leak. They can affect any individual, but elderly, children, and individuals with allergies or respiratory conditions are the most affected.
Enviromarc provides consulting and testing services which can determine the type, level, best method to control mould. We also provides remediation services to control and eliminate mould within buildings.

Asbestos Abatement

If you are considering renovating your current home or office, consider asbestos testing first. Enviromarc is trained to safely and effectively remove or encapsulate materials should it be confirmed that they contain asbestos.

Asbestos is a group of naturally occurring minerals that was widely used to insulate buildings, piping and structures between from the 1950’s to mid 1970’s due to its non-combustibility and flame-retardant properties. Asbestos was also used as a reinforcing or binding agent in plastic, piping, cement and other construction materials due to its strength and flexibility.

Asbestos is a problem when disturbed in a friable (breaks easily) form, becomes airborne, and is inhaled.  Asbestos fibres are nearly impossible to see and can cause all sorts of health concerns, with the most serious being cancer. Enviromarc offers competitive pricing and is flexible to work around clients needs.

Site Investigations (Phase I, II, III, IV)

A Phase I Environmental Site Assessment is the first step in Enviromarcs’ identification of risk associated with contaminated land, and includes the following:

  • Liaison with local authorities and regulators to obtain information pertaining to uses of a site and its surrounding area.
  • Review of map archives in order to obtain a thorough understanding of the site, including previous uses, geology and hydrogeology.
  • Detailed site reconnaissance to identify current site status,
  • Formulation of a conceptual site model to formally identify any pollutant linkages present on the site using the source-pathway-receptor model.
  • Provision of a detailed report including recommendations for further works if required.
